Marni at H&M – up-close & personal

Last week I visited the H&M showroom to have a sneak peek of the soon to be released Marni at H&M collection. Having worked for the brand while living in London, I was interested to see the pieces live; to be able to touch the materials and study the details. Being the slight material obsessive that I am, I was glad to find silk, leather and cashmere in many garments and accessories. This being a collection of designs from the Marni archives rather than new ones designed for this collaboration, there were not so many new&exciting things for me personally; I already own some of the original pieces, that or just have stared for them too many years  while working for the brand. Great collection however for everyone else, worth checking out most definitely!!

In selected stores and hm.com from 8th of March, prices ranging from €9, 95 to €199.

Prada x Michael Pitt

Prada's spring/summer 2012 menswear campaign has a strong 50's vibe. Shot by David Sims, starring actor Michael Pitt. I am in love with the retro scarf!!

Spring/summer 11 season has been done & dusted a long time ago, workwise I am two seasons ahead...but this French childrenswear label Bonpoint’s ad made me smile and is so sweet that I have to post it anyhow!

COS, My Dear

Those of you who are as old as I am, will remember those dreary days when there was nothing in Finland and even to go to H&M you had to travel to Sweden. For a moment there, a few weeks ago, I almost got a ‘déjà vu’ when I made a trip to Stockholm just because I wanted to visit COS
When the first ever COS store opened in London in 2007, there was this unconfirmed rumour going around in the fashion circuit, that the certain Ms. Jil Sander was somehow involved in the design process. True or (probably) not, their designs certainly echo the same minimalism and understated elegance. I can also see a lot of similarity with another fashion brand (&my old workplace) – Marni. Anyhow, having been one of my favourite shops while living in London, I was joyous when they recently opened a web store! As I was browsing through the selection, my friend hinted me about these 10€ cruises to Stockholm…The postal charge would have been 6€, so I figured, I might as well visit the actual shop! Photos from that trip can be seen in here, but now let's have a look at these beautiful pictures from the COS current fall campaign!

Maison Scotch / Scotch&Soda

My half-yearly highlights at the Toveri Helsinki press days include the witty Maison Scotch / Scotch&Soda collections and the amazing food. Unfortunately I didn’t take a picture of the latter, but let’s have a look at this affordable Amsterdam-based label's current fall/winter lookbook & campaign pics!

Breakfast with Vincent Gallo (well, kind of)

A couple of weeks back I got an invitation to my email with a picture of Vincent Gallo, I didn’t really need any more information to rsvp, but turns out it was from G-Star RAW kindly inviting me to a press brunch and to check out their new autumn/winter 11 collection (in store NOW)! Artist, actor, filmmaker, musician Gallo is featuring as the new face for their menswear collection. So enjoying a superfood smoothie, I got a thorough introduction of the collection, the brand and the store which ended by us gazing at the huge poster of Gallo on the window. I can't think of many better ways to start the day!
